Oh my goodness...if this wasn't the absolute sweetest, most genuine, most PERFECT YA Fantasy book I have ever read! And it was a M/M Romance to top it off?
Now the M/M romance? Y'all. Most LGBTQ+ romances have an underlying thread where "others" are uncomfortable with displays of homosexuality. Debbie McQueen made sure there was ZERO negative reactions to Raiden and Egan. And you know what that did? That made the romance absolutely breathtaking. Taking out the unnecessary angst of prejudiced reactions just makes their love shine brighter.
